Swiss Relief x Cottolengo Picolla Casa | Project Date: Oct. 2021 - Dec. 2021

Project Description

Swiss Relief has partnered with Cottlengo's Piccola Casa, which is Piedmont's largest canteen for people in difficulty. The canteen serves on average 250 meals a day from 11:00 until 13:00 at their central location in Turin, Italy. Swiss Relief has been granted permission to serve all meals once a week with Cottolengo oversight and volunteers.

We have partnered with a local Italian restaurant to provide weekly meals to canteen. These meals alternate on a weekly basis from pizza to penne alongside fresh fruit from central market. Piccola Casa volunteers packaged the meals and distribute on our behalf, at times Swiss Relief Volunteers are also present to assist the field team.

Currently, we have started a trial period of 3 months where 3,500 meals will be disturbed by end of December 2021. Specific dates and menus can be found below. We work closely with the Picolla Casa team to ensure our guests have the best experience especially as many rely on this meal for their entire day. If the trial period is successful, we will meet again with Picolla Casa leadership to discuss a one-year partnership with a renewable option at end of the year.
