Homeless Canteen Italy

Relief x Cottolengo Piccola Casa | Project Date: April. 2022 - May. 2023
Project Description
Swiss Relief has partnered with Cottolengo's Piccola Casa to provide 250 meals every once a month. Our partners operate the largest canteen in Piedmont for people in difficulty. It is our core value to provide relief to people in need, especially the homeless communities and low-income households. The Piccola Casa canteen serves on average 250 meals a day from 11:00 until 12:30 at their central location in Turin, Italy. Swiss Relief is proud to collaborate in their effort by providing funding for the meals and volunteers to help with the distribution.
Last year, our team collaborated with a field team and local restaurant to provide all-around assistance once a week. We have decided to scale back our operation this year by providing funding for Cottolengo's kitchen and volunteers to assist with the operation. This decision was taken as funding for this canteen is stable unlike their Ecuador canteen, hence we are currently looking into becoming sponsors of a large-scale food operation in Ecuador to provide weekly meals. Moreover, we have started a new project focusing on providing intimate clothing for the homeless individuals, who visit the Piccola Casa.
